Navy 3-M 303 – Work Center Supervisor Practice Exam

The appropriate action when a maintenance action is not completed by its scheduled date is to ensure that a new maintenance action is either scheduled or reported as an overdue task. This step is crucial because it helps maintain accurate records and ensures accountability within the maintenance management process. Properly documenting overdue tasks contributes to effective planning, resource allocation, and tracking of maintenance activities. By reporting the action as overdue, it alerts management to prioritize the task appropriately and ensures that it is addressed in a timely manner to maintain operational readiness.

While other options may involve considerations around reassigning tasks, taking equipment out of service, or submitting documentation for review, they do not directly address the obligation to manage the schedule and reporting requirements essential for effective maintenance management within the Navy's 3-M systems. Taking these steps helps to uphold maintenance standards and operational efficiency.
